Melanie Lewis studied at Central St Martins School of Art and Design in London from 1989 - 1993, specialising in constructed printed textiles. After graduating she worked in design studios in New York and London in soft furnishings. During this time she was also exhibiting her fine art work and taking private commissions and was featured in The Independent and International Textiles magazine. After a number of years her love of working with three dimensional space and light led her to interior design and she set up her own business in London which she ran successfully for five years.
Melanie returned to Monachyle Mhor two years ago with her partner Jim and their three children. She has a studio on the farm where she is working on a new collection and has recently been concentrating on desiging the new website, photography and the rebranding of the Mhor businesses.
