‘A regular pilgrimage site for Scottish foodies, this small family-run hotel sits in a remote scenic spot overlooking Loch Voil in the Trossachs. As the family also runs the surrounding farmland, the chef-owner Tom Lewis has plenty of fresh local produce to work with. Don’t expect things to be rustic, though; the food and the décor are both rather chic.’ (The Independent - 50 Best British Hotels: 12 January 2007)
Our award-winning hotel restaurant is open to both residents and visitors to the glen.
Lunch is served daily between 12 noon and 1:45pm. During the week an a-la-carte menu is offered along with soup or sandwiches on homemade bread.
‘My sweetheart Alison had home-cured bresola with smoked aubergine tapenade, caper and parsley salad to start. I feel a form of love – it needs a name – for people who home-cure. It shows an understanding of what’s best about Scotland’s food, which is the quality of our meat and fish... An interlude of butterbean and truffle oil soup was like a more nutritious version of Champagne.’ (The Scotsman magazine 26 June 2004)
